Join NHAA

Hello Audiology colleagues,

I hope this letter finds all of you healthy and well, whether you're a long time resident or new to the state. The NH Academy of Audiology is updating and rebuilding! We have updated our membership categories, dues structure and are transitioning from a calendar year of January/December to a fiscal year of May/April. This coincides with Better Hearing and Speech Month and reduces the number of professional dues or fees you pay in January. Our new fiscal year will begin on May 1st, 2025 and we are inviting you to join or renew your membership.

"Why join?": Because every one of you has valuable skills and experience to share and you will be actively making a positive impact on the future of the profession in this state.

Although there are over a hundred licensed Audiologists in the state, only a few contribute to professional advancement at the state level. We are a small group compared to teachers, speech-language pathologists, medical doctors, nurses, etc., and easily overlooked by legislators and other professionals. To be noticed, a more prominent voice is necessary. Together, we can influence decisions to safeguard existing programs, enhance others, and protect the families and clients we serve. We need to define ourselves and our role in healthcare, OR, others will do it without us.

Other benefits of membership include:

  • Value for your dollar, as a large portion of the dues is used to pay our lobbyist group who provide guidance and assistance, weekly updates on legislative activity, and support us in numerous other ways, such as networking with other professionals and filing state forms.
  • Continuing education opportunities through in-person conferences with a reduced fee for members.
  • Leadership opportunities on NHAA committees or work groups
  • Collaborating with colleagues on local or regional concerns

A lot has happened in the state affecting audiology over the last four years; our newly merged Speech Language and Hearing Care Providers Board and joining the Interstate Compact. Other issues are on-going with special education funding, scope of practice, telehealth services, and new insurance requirements for fitting prescription hearing instruments.

Please use the form below to join now and find out more about these and other topics!

We look forward to seeing you in person, or virtually, at our first meeting of the new year.

Respectfully yours,
Carolyn Drury, MS, Retired, President
Marilyn Howard, AuD, Membership Chairperson
